After a triumphant winter performance of Messiah, the Transylvania Choral Society delivered a fitting musical response with their shimmering performance of Franz Josef Haydn’s Mass in D Minor, also known as the Lord Nelson Mass or Imperial Mass. Haydn was inspired by Handel’s Messiah when he composed this work, making it the ideal complement to our December program.
The concert on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at 7:30PM (click here for a concert program) featured the Choral Society joining forces with the Brevard College Chamber Singers, and soloists Kathryn Gresham (soprano), Brittnee Siemon (mezzo), Blake Anthony Ellege (tenor), and Bart Gilleland (bass), accompanied by organist Vance Reese and small orchestra in the Porter Center at Brevard College.
Under renowned Artistic Director and Conductor David Gresham, the Choral Society was pleased to collaborate once again with the Brevard College Chamber Singers, and our esteemed accompanist Patricia Black.
